Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Montego Bay, Jamaica has started 2019 with the introduction of new and updated spaces, and recognition as a leading luxury resort in the Caribbean.
The storied resort was honoured as the Caribbean’s Leading Villa Resort 2018 at the 25th World Travel Awards. December also saw the property debut of four renovated villas, redesigned lobby landscaping, three new Har-Tru green clay tennis courts and a new restaurant, Wright Life Eatery, in its spa.
Josef Forstmayr, the property’s managing director, explained that Round Hill has been committed to continuously improving and maintaining the highest quality and standards since it opened its doors in 1953. “We are incredibly grateful to be recognized by the World Travel Awards, but we feel even more grateful that our loyal guests continue to return year after year,” he said.
Villa & Lobby Renovations
Four of the resort’s 27 luxury villas were extensively renovated. Villas 5, 6, 18 and 22A were given new flooring throughout, as well as bathroom and kitchen updates that combined modern fixtures with the resort’s charming, relaxed aesthetic. The remodeling of several individual suites and new lush, tropical landscaping are also included.
The main hotel lobby garden was also redesigned, with updated landscaping and an intricately-designed stone pathway.
New Tennis Courts
Three of the resort’s five tennis courts were also renovated. The three new Har-Tru green clay courts are the newest of its kind on the island.
Wright Life Eatery at the Round Hill Spa
The only “live food” eatery in Jamaica, Wright Life will be serving lunch at the Round Hill Spa. The dishes–foods and juices–are prepared with organic fruits and vegetables and are sugar- and preservative-free. The menu includes protein shakes with plant or hemp protein; ginger shots; healthy pizza; and burgers made from nuts and seeds.
