The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort has completed a $45 million (USD)  property-wide transformation.

Timed to mark its 15th anniversary, the resort’s renovation spans all common areas and public spaces, the introduction of five beachfront villas, redesigned suites and guestrooms, enhancements to The St. Regis Spa, the launch of new restaurants and bar concepts, updates to the resort’s outdoor wedding venues, and the introduction of the Marietas Pool, which features views of Islas Marietas National Park.

“We are honored to redefine the pinnacle of luxury in Riviera Nayarit as the St. Regis Punta Mita steps into its next chapter,” said Hugo Desenzani, area managing director of Luxury, Marriott International. “With a timeless design that blends traditional elegance with modern charm, coupled with our commitment to offering distinguished service and unparalleled experiences, our comprehensive transformation will undoubtedly leave a lasting effect on luxury hospitality in Mexico.”

The transformation of St. Regis Punta Mita was done in collaboration with Mexico-based design firm, B-Huber. Paying homage to the resort’s natural surroundings and the destination’s cultural heritage, the enhanced design blends Mexican with Mediterranean and features natural textures and materials such as travertine marble, blown glass, clay ceilings, hammered brass and natural world.

The resort’s accommodations have been reimagined with Mexican art, handcrafted furnishings and hacienda structures with a touch of rustic Provence. Details include colorful, handcrafted tiles, arched patios and pigmented walls. The five residential-style beachfront villas have outdoor terraces with personal lounge pools and plush furnishings.

Enhancements of The St. Regis Spa include elevated outdoor facilities and treatment rooms as well as the addition of a Temazcal – an indigenous Mayan sweat lodge – created in collaboration with a local shaman. It also boasts a new Couples Spa Suite with private plunge pool, outdoor shower, lounge seating and side-by-side massage tables.

Encompassing five distinct culinary experiences all led by the resort’s newly appointed executive chef, Pablo Arias, St. Regis Punta Mita introduced several new restaurants and a modern lobby bar as part of the renovation. The new culinary concepts include: Mita Mary, an oceanfront dining experience; a beachfront Nikkei cuisine concept; and Las Marietas Restaurant & Bar, an all-day dining restaurant offering authentic Mexican and international cuisine.
