Fuji Speedway Hotel in Shizuoka, Japan, is now open. It is the first property within The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand in Japan.
Set against the backdrop of Mount Fuji, the hotel is one of several attractions in the new Fuji Motorsports Forest project developed by the Toyota Group.
Fuji Speedway Hotel features 120 accommodations, including 21 spacious suites, all with private balconies offering views of Fuji Speedway race circuit or Mount Fuji. It also has five dog-friendly villas featuring private garages with floor-to-ceiling windows. The interiors of all rooms have sophisticated finishes, ranging from buttery leather to marble detailing. Spa-like bathrooms include deep soaking tubs.
The hotel has two restaurants serving local fare, a bar and an all-day dining lounge. Trofeo is an all-day trattoria-style eatery with outdoor terraces and private rooms, and a casual lobby lounge with views of Mount Fuji. Robata Oyama delivers an interactive Japanese dining experience with premium meat, fresh seafood, and seasonal vegetables grilled at the central show kitchen. And Bar 4563 is a speakeasy-style bar with an outdoor terrace, and a menu that includes crafted cocktails and a range of premium Japanese whiskeys. Its decor features walls lined with model cars.
It is also home to Omika Wellness & Spa, a wellbeing sanctuary that includes an indoor pool, a spa, indoor and outdoor hote spring onsens, and a large fitness center. In another nod to motorsports fans, the fitness center has a state-of-the-art driving stimulator designed for professional race car drivers, but accessible for guests.
Meeting and event spaces at the hotel include two unique, pillar-less venues: a ballroom and a function room with a show kitchen and VIP room, spanning some 5,597 square feet. Groups of up to 310 people can be accommodated at the property.
The property also houses the Fuji Motorsports Museum, which showcases about 40 story-worthy and era-defining cars dating from the end of the 19th century.
“Fuju Speedway Hotel epitomizes the brand’s hallmark for worldly, unforgettable memories, and I believe it is the brand that best encapsulates the appeal of the Fuji Motorsports Forest,” said Tomohide Yamamura, president, Toyota Fudosan.
David Udell, group president, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels Corporations, added that the hotel provides overseas visitors and local residents with a memorable, one-of-a-kind experience that blends the excitement of motorsports with the luxury of a boutique hotel in the beautiful countryside. “We are truly honored that Toyota Fudosan Co., Ltd., an affiliate of the Toyota Group, has chosen Hyatt and The Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand as a key component of their Fuji Motorsports Forest project – the first hotel that Toyota has developed in collaboration with Hyatt.”
